Causes

Sanitizers also clean human waste and beauty products used by swimmers. Algae in the pool also actively reduce pool sanitizer resulting in cloudy pool water. Pool water should have a correct balance of acidic and alkaline chemicals. If the amount of alkaline chemicals exceeds the amount of acidic chemicals in the water, your pool water will look cloudy.

Find a suitable pool brush that will not damage the surface of the pool and scrub the pool walls. Use a pool vacuum cleaner to remove all the debris and dirt in the pool. Treat the pool water with a pool clarifier. Follow the instructions on how you should use the clarifier and use the correct amount according to the size of the pool. Leave the filter running and let the clarifier do its work. Clarifiers take several days to effectively clean the pool. Vacuum the pool after the clarifier completes its work. Test the water in the pool after the clarification treatment is complete. Add a high dose of chlorine and shock the pool. Turn the bottom drains of the pool on and allow them to transfer debris to the filter. Use a flocculant. Flocculants make debris settle at the bottom of the pool to make cleaning easy. Test each chemical used in the pool with a test strip and make adjustments till the chemical balance is correct.
