First things first, if you haven't touched your pool in years or if you just moved into a home with
a pool in dier need of service, contact us or any local pool man to get an assessment of your
needs. Most neglected swimming pools will need to be drained and have the walls washed.
Once refilled, chemicals will need to be added to start you off on the right foot.

Now you have a clean slate that can be attacked according to the problems. If there is still algae
growing on the walls of the pool, remove with a wire brush and shock treatment. Now a crystal

Weekly Pool Maintenance - Chemicals, Filter Basket Cleaning & Net Cleaning
An easy way to check the chemical levels in your pool is to purchase testing strips from your
local pool supply store. These strips are easy to use and read, letting you know quickly what the
balance is of your swimming pool.

Your pools filter baskets are usually located at the side of the pool and at the inlet to the pool
pump. Both baskets should be emptied regularly to ensure proper filtration and prolong the life
of your pool pump.

Net cleaning your swimming pool using a pole and skimmer net will clear your pool of larger
debris that could cause a filter clog or pump issue.

Keep Your Swimming Pool Safe

Keep your homes swimming pool safe with a few precautions. Pool fences are mandatory in
most states and should be installed around all pools that have could ever have children around
them. Swimming pool fences should be tall with a high latch and lock to prevent smaller children
from entering without adult supervision.

Be sure to keep your pool chemicals in a safe place, not just next to the pool pump. Children
and animals will be interested in the smell and could be hurt badly by the pool chemicals.
Also be sure to follow the well know, simple rules of the pool. Don't run on the pool deck. Don't
ruffhouse. Don't do something you think could hurt you or someone else. Just Keep It Safe.
