As the mercury rises, so do our expectations for summertime fun, and many of us start to feel the itch for adventure. After being cooped up all winter, the summer months are the perfect time to get out and explore. However, with some planning and preparation, you can ensure that your day is legendary. We have the best tip for your summer pool day.
- Music
There's nothing quite like a pool day in the summertime. The sun is shining, the water is refreshing, and you've got your favorite tunes playing in the background. Music has a way of setting the tone for any activity.
Classical music has been proven to have a calming effect on the listener, so it may be a good choice if you want to relax by the pool. Try some tracks by The Beach Boys or Bob Dylan. If you want something a little more upbeat, try Jessie J or Justin Timberlake. and Norah Jones or Sade. If you're looking to get energized, however, you may want to consider upbeat pop or rock songs. Fast-paced electronica can also be a good choice for an active pool day.
- Pool Games
When it comes to having fun in the pool, there are various games that people of all ages can enjoy. Pool Games include;
⦁ Marco Polo
One player is "it" and tries to tag other players, while the other players try to avoid being tagged. The catch is that "it" can only order other players when they are within shouting range, so players have to stay close together to stay in the game.
⦁ Sharks and Minnows
One player is the shark, and the rest are minnows. Minnows swim to the other side without getting caught by the shark. If a minnow is seen, they become a shark too. The last minnow remaining wins the game.
⦁ Pool Noodle Jousting
Players face off in pairs, each armed with a pool noodle. The goal is to knock your opponent off their floaties using only your noodle – no hands allowed! This one is sure to bring out your inner child.
⦁ Water Balloon Toss
Players form pairs and stand on opposite sides of the pool. Each pair tosses their balloon back and forth, trying not to drop it. If the balloon pops, the team is out of the game. The last team standing wins!
- Pool Photos
Of course, when you're at the pool, you'll want to make sure that you take some great photos to capture the memories. Here are a few tips for great pool photos:
⦁ Look for interesting angles
Instead of just taking a stock photo from straight on, try getting creative with your shots. Climb up onto a chair or ladder for an aerial photograph, or get down low for an exciting perspective.
⦁ Play with light and shadow
The light reflections off the water can create some beautiful effects. So experiment with different lighting techniques to see what looks best.
⦁ Use props
Pool floats and inflatables can make for some fun photos. Or why not try using submerged objects to create unique compositions?
⦁ Get everyone in on the fun
Group shots are always famous, so make sure that everyone gets in on the action. And don't forget to capture those candid moments too!
- Food & Refreshments
It's also a good idea to have some light snacks on hand to keep your energy up without weighing you down. Fresh fruits, vegetables, yogurt, whole grain crackers, and trail mix are all great choices. And of course, don't forget the iced cold beverages for when you need something special. Lemonade, iced coffee, and fruit smoothies are always refreshing.
